SUGARBIRD MANOR

The luxurious nine-roomed guesthouse, operated by the Devon Valley Hotel, is named after the Cape Sugarbird, endemic to South Africa's unique fynbos vegetation. These birds feed heavily off the nectar produced by proteas and assist in their pollination.
Sugarbird Manor is located on the once-popular vineyard hiking trail between Oude Libertas and Zevenwacht, . WWF-SA intends supporting the re-instatement of the hiking trail, in collaboration with the recently established Bottelary Conservancy, and Stellenbosch Municipality.
Sugarbird is the original homestead on a 21.6 hectare working protea farm, Protea Heights, that was donated to WWF-SA in July 1975. Flowers on the farm are cultivated for export and guests are invited to enjoy the natural assets of the region, while contributing to the future of WWF-SA's nature-conservation activities.
Sugarbird Manor offers conference facilities for up to 24 people. The relaxed and tranquil surroundings provide the ideal place for breakaways from the office and brainstorming sessions, workshops and meetings.
