Cremorne Estate Holiday Resort lies at the foot of Mount Sullivan Forest Reserve, on the bank of the Mzimvubu River which flows down for another 3 and half kilometres, bursting into the Indian Ocean. Cremorne Estate lies opposite Mount Thesiger Forest Reserve which has a Landing Strip on the flat top with magnificent views of the ocean and surrounding hills and valleys.

Port St John's town lies at the Mzimvubu river mouth and is surrounded by towering cliffs and unspoilt forests. Mount Thesiger and Mount Sullivan are home to Vervet monkeys, Samango monkeys, Baboons, rock and tree Hyraxes, Genets, Otters and many other small mammals and Insects. Leopards are a rare sighting.

There are almost 300 bird species in this area and Cape Parrot, Fish Eagles, Bustads; Pipets are seen swooping down the river and over the forests.
