A mere 30 minute drive from the lush lowveld town of Tzaneen lies Ndzalama Wildlife Reserve?Place of Sacred Rocks. Enter the privately owned 8000 ha reserve and leave behind the harsh world of technology and speed. Experience the luxury of Ndzalama Lodge, where 6 beautifully appointed chalets nestle amongst gigantic granite boulders. These stone and thatch chalets melt into the supreme surroundings and comforts such as airconditioning, an oval bath and outside shower add a touch of elegance. Each chalet has a private verandah where the only view is that of indigenous bush and often a herd of nyala or impala grazing nearby. Ndzalama Lodge also boasts a self-catering family unit with one double and two single beds. All guests at the Lodge have access to the authentic rock pool and spacious lounge and dining areas, as well as a fully equipped catering kitchen. A cozy bar and open boma complete the unique backdrop for unwinding and allowing the ancient rhythms of Africa to pulse through one?s veins.
Leopard Rock is a more rustic bush camp that provides facilities for groups of up to twelve guests on a self-catering basis. The camp perches on a rocky outcrop that offers a panoramic view of prime land. Ndzalama offers spectacular game viewing, boasting four of the Big Five. Ornithologists have the opportunity to identify many of the 300 bird species that abound on the reserve while tree lovers may relish the effort of identifying the more than 90 tree species found here. The single most unique quality of a visit to Ndzalama has to be that guests experience a complete merging of mind, soul and Nature. The massive boulders that seem to grow out of the earth seem to guard visitors from the outside world and within this rocky realm one can connect again with that which is real and essential.
