DESERT EXPRESS

Namibia is renowned for its wide open spaces and superb sunrises and sunsets. The timetable has been specifically designed to coincide with the sunrise and sunsets. Desert Express departs in the early afternoon on Fridays and Tuesdays from Windhoek Station and calls at the luxurious Okapuka Ranch, where passengers can witness lion feeds close-up.

Enjoy a sundowner in the relaxed atmosphere of the elegant Spitzkoppe lounge as you watch the sunset over the endless plains. Dinner is served in our spacious Welwitschia restaurant.

Early the next morning, the train will travel through the Namib Desert to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, where it stops for sixty minutes, to allow passengers to take a walk. The dunes are really unique! Arriving in Swakopmund, at approximately 10:00 am.

From Swakopmund, Desert Express stops at Stingbank where passengers can disembark to enjoy the magnificent view over the Kahn valley and the surrounding landscape, enjoy a drink, and simply relax.

In the evening, a superb three course dinner is served. The next morning we arrive at Okapuka Ranch at 08:00 am, where you can witness lions feeding. The train arrives at the historical Windhoek Station at 10:00 am.
